50-Mile Radius Rule

Fingerprinting Requirement
- In-Person (Jackson or Grenada campus):
- Must be completed 1 week prior to assignment

Certification Requirements
General Certifications
- BLS required
Specialty Certifications
- RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer) or
- RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer)
Department Operations
Scanners / Rooms
- Hospital: 5 Echo rooms
- Clinic: 3 Echo rooms
Floating Requirements
- Yes — between Hospital and Clinic, which are within walking distance.
Imaging / Study Types & Job Duties
- Complete transthoracic echocardiograms
- Myocardial strain imaging
- Saline bubble studies
- Contrast imaging
- TEE assistance as needed
Required Skills
- Strong experience with transthoracic echo per ASE (American Society of Echocardiography) guidelines.
Daily Volume
- Average: 8 studies/day
Equipment
- Ultrasound Machines: Philips EPIQ and iE33
Department Leadership & Staff
- Supervisor: Non-Invasive Supervisor
- RRA Use: No
- Radiologist/Cardiologist: Cardiologist on-site
IV Skills
- If the tech is trained, they may start IVs after being checked off by a nurse.
