Required Certifications

RN Telemetry 2 years exp required Covid card/exemption , rn wa /compact license BLS, NIHSS 

Experience Requirement:

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required.
• Absolutely no license hits accepted — regardless of date, nature, or current status. Do not submit any traveler with known license issues.

Certifications & Skills

• BLS (required)
• NIHSS (required)
• Completion of 8 hours of neuro-specific education annually
• Strong knowledge of cardiac arrhythmias
• Must be current on EKG competencies

Scheduling & Expectations

• Hours per week: 36 hours guaranteed
• Weekends: Required, rotating
• Holidays: Required, rotating
• Call: As needed

Unit Notes – Neuro/Telemetry (30 Beds)

Patient Population

This Neuro/Tele unit primarily cares for stroke and seizure patients. Common patient types and conditions include:

• Post-ictal seizure patients
• New stroke patients requiring q2h neuro checks
• Post-TPA/TNK
• Post-craniectomy/burr holes
• Elective VEEG patients (seizures may be induced on the unit)
• Cardiac patients on amiodarone or diltiazem drips
• Post-cardiac cath, post-PM/ICD, post-ablation
• IVIG infusions
• Plasmapheresis
• Occasional Med-Surg overflow
