To work at a Select Specialty Hospital, you need experience in critical care or with medically complex patients, and a strong understanding of clinical assessments and ventilator management.
Select Specialty Hospitals are critical illness recovery hospitals, part of the larger Select Medical network, that treat patients recovering from severe illnesses and injuries who need more time and intensive care to heal. These hospitals offer a specialized setting with interdisciplinary teams of physicians, nurses, and therapists who provide personalized treatment plans for complex medical conditions, helping patients regain strength, learn to breathe, eat, speak, and walk again before returning to daily life.
Longer Stays and Intensive Care:
Patients require a longer stay and a more resource-intensive level of care than is typical in an acute care hospital.
Focus on Critical Illness Recovery:
They specialize in treating patients who have survived critical care but still have significant medical needs, such as those on ventilators, with multi-system organ failure, or with multiple chronic illnesses.
