Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week contract assignment. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical competency in cardiac catheterization procedures and the ability to respond quickly to emergent situations. This role requires frequent on-call coverage and the flexibility to work consecutive weekends as needed. A current Hawaii RN license is required prior to the start of the assignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with cardiac catheterization procedures and interventional cardiology cases
- Provide pre-, intra-, and post-procedure patient care
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, administer medications, and support sedation management
- Respond to emergent cases as part of frequent on-call rotation
- Collaborate with cardiologists, technologists, and interdisciplinary teams
- Document all patient care accurately in the Cerner EMR system
- Maintain adherence to safety protocols, sterile technique, and regulatory standards
- Support patient/family education and discharge planning
- Adapt to variable workloads, including weekend and emergency call coverage
Requirements
- Active Hawaii RN license required before assignment start
- Minimum 5 years of RN experience, preferably in Cath Lab or high-acuity cardiac settings
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications (additional certifications listed are preferred)
- Ability to take frequent on-call and work consecutive weekends
- Strong skills in cardiac monitoring, procedural support, and emergency response
- Not a bilingual-required position
- EMR experience required (Cerner preferred)
- Maximum of 3 candidate submissions allowed
