Description
Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN)
We are seeking an experienced ED RN to join our Emergency Department team in a fast paced, high acuity hospital setting. The ED RN provides rapid assessment, stabilization, and ongoing care for a diverse patient population across all age groups.
Responsibilities
• Perform triage and focused assessments for emergent and non emergent patients, prioritizing care based on acuity
• Initiate and manage ED protocols including labs, imaging, IV access, medications, and fluid resuscitation
• Monitor patients for changes in condition and respond quickly to deterioration, including participation in trauma activations, stroke alerts, and code situations
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, EMS, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate safe and efficient patient flow
• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnosis, treatment, discharge instructions, and follow up care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the electronic medical record
Requirements
• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice or compact license
• Minimum two years of recent Emergency Department RN experience
• Current BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association
• PALS and or TNCC preferred based on facility requirements
• Strong triage skills, critical thinking, and ability to manage multiple high acuity patients in a dynamic environment
