Radiation Therapist – Travel/Local Assignment Local Rate: Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility. (Local rate is reduced by $8.00/hour.) Certification Requirements Required: BLS (AHA) ARRT Certification as a Radiation Therapist No additional specialty certifications required unless listed. Department Details Equipment: 1 Varian TrueBeam Treatment Machine 1 Philips CT Simulation Machine Float Requirements: None Average Treatments per Day: 20–25 EMR/PACS: EMR: Cerner Oncology system: Aria Job Duties & Essential Functions Deliver radiation therapy treatment as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist with accuracy and safety. Assess and evaluate patients’ physical and psychological response to daily treatments and report changes promptly. Identify and report equipment malfunctions to leadership and medical physics. Perform CT simulations as directed. Create/fabricate immobilization devices for precise treatment delivery. Monitor normal tissue dose levels and notify the Radiation Oncologist if limits are approached. Plan treatment techniques using computer or manual dose calculations. Collaborate with Dosimetry, Medical Physicists, and Radiation Oncologists to verify treatment plans. Document dose calculations in the therapy chart and verify accuracy. Verify and record charges for simulation and treatment procedures. Assist Medical Physicists and Radiation Safety Officers with QA, machine calibrations, and radiation safety. Maintain regular attendance and meet competency requirements. Maintain skills, knowledge, and abilities necessary for all role-specific functions. Experience Requirements Minimum: 2 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist. Must-have skills: Ability to deliver treatments, perform simulations, and use TrueBeam & Aria effectively. Additional Department Notes Radiology Supervisor/Lead Tech on Shift: No, but a core team is available. RRAs Used: No Radiologist On-Site: Yes IV Starts Required: No Shift & Scheduling Schedule: 0700–1700 (varied start times), 8-hour shifts Self-scheduling / Block scheduling: Not mentioned – assume standard scheduling Weekends: None Holidays: None Call Requirements: No call or standby required Orientation Orientation: 2 days NEO/modules/CBTs 1–2 days unit-specific orientation Dress Code Scrubs required – any color or design permitted Scrubs not provided unless stated otherwise Clinicians must clock in/out at the facility REQUIRED Submission Note Must note if clinician has ever worked for Marshfield.
