Job Description: Registered Nurse – Emergency Room
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse for a 13-week assignment at a Magnet-designated Level II Trauma Center in Arlington, VA. This fast-paced emergency department sees approximately 65,000 visits annually, with 36 beds including 8 express care beds. The ED provides care across the lifespan, from neonates to geriatric patients, and is a certified comprehensive stroke center with 24/7 interventional cardiology services.
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to patients in a Level II Trauma Center
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams to assess and treat patients
- Document patient care accurately using Epic charting systems
- Respond to emergencies and high-acuity cases across diverse patient populations
- Adhere to hospital standards, including compliance with vaccination and smoke/nicotine-free policies
- Work scheduled night shifts and meet weekend requirements (6 shifts per 6-week schedule)
Minimum Qualifications
- Active Virginia RN license or Compact License (must be in hand at submission)
- Minimum of 3 years of Emergency Department experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- TNCC certification preferred (trauma center experience required if not certified)
- EPIC charting experience preferred

- Shift: Night, 3x12-hour (7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.)
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: December 22, 2025 (ASAP, dependent on EPIC training schedule)
