Description
This is an overnight Fri-Sat-Sun. If they are available during the week to pick up additional shifts (day or night) there could be a need as well but if they are looking to commute back and forth depending on their location for their weekend shifts that is just fine. With winter weather now approaching we would encourage them to find a place to stay in Spencer to ensure they make it to their shifts as we staff lab 24/7.Our laboratory professionals perform a variety of testing services from basic wellness and pre-employment screenings to complex orders from physicians specializing in oncology, pathology and other medical disciplines.
Spencer Hospital’s laboratory is certified under CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act) and also participates in the American Association of Blood Bank’s quality certification program.
Schedule:
Fri-Sat-Sun Weekend - NIGHTS - 5:45p-6a
Responsibilities:
Performs a variety of laboratory tests, some routine and some complex, of body fluids and other substances to provide data in the diagnosis or treatment of diseases
Requires use of professional judgment
Must have excellent communication skills, caring attitude and be a team player
Requirements:
A Baccalaureate degree in Medical Technology or a related science, including 12 months training or experience, or both, in high complexity testing
Possess an Associate Degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution and have at least two years training or experience, or both, in high complexity testing
Certified as a Medical Technologist by a nationally recognized certifying agency showing competence as a medical laboratory technologist
Current ASCP certification or equivalent preferred.
