Description

Oncology Registered Nurse (Oncology RN)

The Oncology RN provides specialized nursing care to patients receiving treatment for cancer in an acute care or outpatient setting, supporting chemotherapy, symptom management, and patient and family education.

Responsibilities
• Perform focused assessments, monitor lab values and treatment responses, and promptly report changes in patient condition
• Administer chemotherapy and other oncologic treatments safely and accurately, following all safety protocols
• Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment plans, side effect management, and discharge instructions while documenting all care in the EMR

Requirements
• Active RN license in the state of practice or compact
• Minimum 2 years of recent Oncology or chemo infusion experience
• Current BLS certification; ONS or chemotherapy certification preferred or required per facility policy
