Travel RN Opportunity – Emergency Department

Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Facility Overview

• 355-bed hospital with specialized centers including Brain, Cancer, Heart, Lung, Orthopedics, Surgical Weight Loss, Women’s Center, and Level 3 NICU
• Emergency Department: 32 beds
• Additional units: 29-bed inpatient rehab, 15-bed surgical suite & imaging, 81-bed adult Behavioral Health Hospital (South Campus)

Position Details

• Role: Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Services
• Shift: Nights
• Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed
• Weekend Hours: Rotate every other weekend
• Call Requirements: Variable, depending on census
• Number of Openings: 1

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years as an RN
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• Licenses: Registered Nurse License
• EHR System: Cerner (required)

Unit Profile

• Patient Ratios: 1:4 to 1:5
• Patient Population: Birth to death (all ages)
• Equipment: Critical care equipment used
• Trauma Level: Not officially designated, but receives all trauma cases

Desired Skills & Attributes

• Strong patient experience skills with patients and families
• Critical care thinking and stamina for a fast-paced environment
• Experience preferred in fast-paced ED settings, strokes, STEMIs, and trauma cases
• Energetic and knowledgeable personality fit

Additional Notes

• Float requirements to assist in other areas where competencies exist
• Dress code: Any scrub color allowed; hoodies and inappropriate t-shirts are not acceptable

This role is ideal for an experienced Emergency Department RN looking for a travel assignment in a dynamic, trauma-receiving hospital with a broad patient population.
