Description

  • Microbiology experience required, including plate reading.

 

Job Summary:

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist performs high-complexity laboratory testing to support accurate patient diagnosis and clinical decision-making. This role analyzes specimens, verifies test validity, and reports results in accordance with laboratory policies and CLIA ’88 guidelines.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform and validate high-complexity testing per departmental procedures.
  • Analyze specimens, verify sample integrity, and maintain proper documentation.
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Confirm and investigate unusual or critical results and report promptly to providers.
  • Adhere to CLIA ’88 regulations, compliance standards, and quality assurance protocols.
  • Follow all safety, infection control, and biohazard handling standards.
  • Collaborate with lab leadership and staff to maintain efficient workflow and patient care.

 

Requirements: Education: 

Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent.


 

Certifications:

  • CLS (NCA), MT (ASCP), MLS-M, or equivalent.

 

Experience:

  • Proficiency in Epic EMR system
  • Previous experience in cardiac sonography preferred
