🏥 ICU Unit Summary — Nampa Hospital (Floor 1)
Department: ICU | Beds: 10
Nurse:Patient Ratio: 1:2
Required Certs: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Radius Rule: 50 miles
👩⚕️ Patient Population & Common Diagnoses
- Heart Failure
- Respiratory Failure
- Sepsis
- Vented Patients
- GI Bleeds
- Strokes / TPA
- Post-code
- Pneumonia
- Post-surgical patients (if complications occur; no specialty surgeries)
- CRRT patients present, but travelers do NOT take CRRT
🧠 Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year ICU experience
- First-time travelers accepted
- Must be a strong team player
💉 Drips & Skills
RNs required to titrate drips
Common drips:
- Propofol
- Levophed
- Dobutamine
- Vasopressin
- Fentanyl
- Epinephrine
- Diltiazem
🧑⚕️ Support Staff & Providers
- Charge nurse each shift (no patient assignment)
- Admin Supervisor on site 24/7
- Crisis nurse 24/7
- 1 CNA per shift
- Hospitalist in-house 24/7
- Intensivist via telehealth 24/7
- RT in ICU 24/7
- RT equipment: Vents, High-Flow, BiPAP
📡 Monitoring
- No telemetry/monitor techs
- RNs interpret strips
- System: Spacelabs
⏰ Scheduling
- 12-hour shifts (7a–7p / 7p–7a)
- Unit scheduler manages scheduling
- Blocked/grouped shifts allowed
Weekend Requirement: As needed (often every other)
Holiday Requirement: Only if needed
Call/Standby: None
🔁 Floating
- May float to Tele (typically 1:3, but may take full assignment)
- May float to ICUs at Meridian & Boise
👕 Dress Code
- Any color scrubs — clean & professional
🧭 Orientation
- 1–2 shifts, based on experience
