🏥 ICU Unit Summary — Nampa Hospital (Floor 1)

Department: ICU | Beds: 10
Nurse:Patient Ratio: 1:2
Required Certs: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Radius Rule: 50 miles

👩‍⚕️ Patient Population & Common Diagnoses

  • Heart Failure
  • Respiratory Failure
  • Sepsis
  • Vented Patients
  • GI Bleeds
  • Strokes / TPA
  • Post-code
  • Pneumonia
  • Post-surgical patients (if complications occur; no specialty surgeries)
  • CRRT patients present, but travelers do NOT take CRRT

🧠 Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year ICU experience
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Must be a strong team player

💉 Drips & Skills

RNs required to titrate drips
Common drips:

  • Propofol
  • Levophed
  • Dobutamine
  • Vasopressin
  • Fentanyl
  • Epinephrine
  • Diltiazem

🧑‍⚕️ Support Staff & Providers

  • Charge nurse each shift (no patient assignment)
  • Admin Supervisor on site 24/7
  • Crisis nurse 24/7
  • 1 CNA per shift
  • Hospitalist in-house 24/7
  • Intensivist via telehealth 24/7
  • RT in ICU 24/7
  • RT equipment: Vents, High-Flow, BiPAP

📡 Monitoring

  • No telemetry/monitor techs
  • RNs interpret strips
  • System: Spacelabs

Scheduling

  • 12-hour shifts (7a–7p / 7p–7a)
  • Unit scheduler manages scheduling
  • Blocked/grouped shifts allowed

Weekend Requirement: As needed (often every other)
Holiday Requirement: Only if needed
Call/Standby: None

🔁 Floating

  • May float to Tele (typically 1:3, but may take full assignment)
  • May float to ICUs at Meridian & Boise

👕 Dress Code

  • Any color scrubs — clean & professional

🧭 Orientation

  • 1–2 shifts, based on experience
