ALLIED - PHARMACIST

• Shift: Rotational, 26-week contract, 40 hours/week, Rotational Schedule (5x8 hours, M-F, evenings 3-11 PM, primarily with occasional flex to days)
• Job Summary: Ensures correct medication administration, including clinical appropriateness and proper delivery to patients.
• Job Responsibilities:
  • Interprets and clarifies orders/prescriptions written by physicians and authorized practitioners; intervenes when clinically appropriate.
  • Ensures orders/prescriptions are filled per professional standards, state/federal laws, and departmental policies.
  • Communicates with patients for prescription counseling and educational activities as required by law.
  • Maintains accurate controlled substance documentation per UHS Pharmacy department and regulatory agencies.
  • Oversees and supervises technical staff during distributive activities.
  • Maintains general knowledge of order/prescription processing.
  • Prepares, supervises, and checks the preparation of compounded products.
  • Prepares and executes pharmacy-related documents and reports to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
• Required Experience: 1 year hospital experience; experience with EPIC and Pyxis preferred but not required
• Skills Required: N/A
• Preferred Skills & Experience: 1 year of experience as a pharmacist
• Education Required: Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Pharm.D. from an accredited college/university
• Education Preferred: N/A
• Licensure/Certifications Required: Licensed as a Pharmacist in New York State or NYS internship permit
• Licensure/Certifications Preferred: N/A
