Description

Position Summary

The Clinical Staff/Ambulatory Pharmacist delivers comprehensive patient care through:

Inpatient pharmacy functions:
- Order entry and verification
- Medication checking and dispensing
- Other tasks ensuring safe and effective medication use
Ambulatory roles (rotational, as assigned):
- Anticoagulation clinic
- Oncology
- Other outpatient services
Support for diverse patient populations, from geriatrics to pediatrics.

Minimum Requirements

Education:

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy – required
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) – preferred

Experience:

Recent hospital experience – preferred
Ambulatory rotations: Pharmacy residency experience – preferred
Advanced practice certifications – preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Understanding of current state and federal pharmacy laws
Strong interpersonal skills to interact with:
- Pharmacy staff and technicians
- Healthcare providers and nurses
- Other health system employees
- Medical sales representatives

License/Certification:

Licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy or eligible for reciprocity within 90 days
For Anticoagulation Clinic rotations: American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification, renewed every 2 years
