Shift Information:

days (7a-7p) or Nights (7p-7a)

Position: LPN

Job Summary:

The RN/LPN partners with residents and care providers to provide direct and indirect care in a safe and therapeutic environment.

Units:

1. 3 East – Alzheimer’s/Dementia Unit (31 beds)
   • Specialized care for residents with Alzheimer’s/dementia
   • Use of verbal/non-verbal communication techniques
   • Understanding difficult behaviors as valid communication
   • Long-term, home-like environment
2. Transitional Rehabilitation Unit (42 beds)
   • Short-term skilled nursing & rehab services
   • Patients recovering from fractures, surgeries, strokes, etc.
   • Nursing services may include IV therapy, wound care, geriatric assessment
3. 3 West – Long-Term Care Unit (42 beds)
   • Long-term care for residents needing a home-like environment

Job Requirements

Education:

• Associate Degree in Nursing or Graduate of Maine State Board approved LPN course
• Must have a valid State of Maine or compact LPN license

Experience:

• 3 years LPN experience preferred

Skills:

• Medical terminology preferred
• Strong teamwork & communication skills
• Ability to work within a team of care providers
• Flexibility for 24/7 coverage and unit float

Other:

• Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute requirements
