1. General Job Duties & Required Procedures

The Locum Medical Physicist will be responsible for the following:

• Weekly chart checks
• Electron cutout measurements
• VMAT QA
• TLD measurements
• Treatment planning
• Machine repair coordination and engineer interface
• Linear accelerator and CT QA
• VMAT peer review of plans
• Software upgrades
• Weekly chart rounds documentation
• Technical and scientific consultation related to treatment planning and delivery
• Leading monthly QI meetings
• Monthly technical committee meetings
• Bi-annual radiation safety meetings
• Special physics reports
• End-of-treatment data collection and analysis
• Evaluation and implementation of new equipment
• Managing the radiation badge program
• Providing technical training for therapists and dosimetrists
• Calibration of all equipment
• Modalities: 3D EBRT, SBRT, IMRT, VMAT

2. Equipment Utilized

The department is fully modernized and paperless, utilizing the following:

• Elekta Infinity Linac (3 photon, 5 electron beams)
• OBI for kV and MV imaging
• GE Discovery CT 590 RT
• ABC breath-hold system with DuoCheck QA
• Sun Nuclear ArcCheck, IC Profiler, QA3 warmup device
• Large & small water tanks, solid water slabs
• Ion chambers, electrometers
• PTW data acquisition software
• ATLAS database
• Pinnacle v16.2 TPS
• Mosaiq v2.64 R&V
• MIM, RIT, RadCalc
• Immobilization devices, bolus manufacturing, decimal cutout process
• Cyrpa (7) Moveable Laser System with automated calibration
• Imaging phantoms
• EPIC and various clinical software tools
• Computer workstations, scanners, printers, full MS Office suite
• Extensive Excel-based worksheets, Mosaiq scripting and QCLs
• Comprehensive policies, procedures, and reference documentation

3. Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 3 years of post-certification clinical medical physics experience
• Prior solo-coverage experience strongly preferred

4. Required Licensure & Certifications

• MS or higher in Medical Physics
• DABR certification
• QMP recognition (CRCPD)

5. Shift & Schedule Requirements

• Monday–Friday, daytime schedule
• Some on-call during regular clinic hours
• Occasional weekends/evenings based on clinical needs
• Independent work is expected at times

6. Floating Requirements

• No floating to other departments

7. Patient Volume

• Treating approximately 18–35 patients per day

8. Nurse-to-Patient Ratio

• N/A

9. Dress Code

• Casual business attire
• No jeans

10. Training & Orientation

A structured orientation and equipment-specific training will be provided to ensure smooth integration into the department’s workflow.
