Job Description – Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)

The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) performs a variety of preparatory, scrubbing, and intraoperative duties necessary to support safe and effective patient care in the operating room. This role assists with surgical procedures across multiple specialty areas, ensuring proper instrumentation, sterile field maintenance, and efficient workflow during surgery.

Minimum Experience

2 years of recent CST experience required
First-time travelers: Considered upon review

Facility Details

Beds: 6 total (5 general OR rooms + 1 urology room)

Patient Types / Surgical Specialties

The CST will support a wide range of surgical cases, including:

General Surgery
Gynecology
Urology
ENT
Vascular
Neurosurgery
Spinal
Dental
Complex ENT
Pediatrics and Adults

Required Skills

Competency and hands-on experience with the surgical specialties listed above
Ability to maintain sterile technique at all times
Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation and OR protocols

Certifications

CST – Certified Surgical Technologist (required)

Ratios & Monitoring

Tech-to-Patient Ratio: 1:1
Telemetry Monitoring: Yes, bedside

Schedule Requirements

On-Call: Ideally yes
Weekend Rotation: Preferably 1 weekend per month
