Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team on a PRN/per-diem basis. The ideal candidate is a strong clinician with excellent critical-thinking skills, the ability to perform in fast-paced situations, and a passion for providing exceptional care to mothers and newborns.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring, delivering, and postpartum patients
• Monitor fetal heart tones, maternal vital signs, and labor progression
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and obstetric emergencies
• Administer medications, including epidural support and labor augmentation per protocol
• Educate and support patients and families throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, anesthesia, and neonatal teams

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
• Minimum 1 year Labor & Delivery experience required
• AWHONN/Fetal Heart Monotiling cert.
• BLS and NRP required; ACLS preferred (facility dependent)
• Proficient in fetal monitoring and interpreting EFM strips
• Strong communication and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to respond effectively to urgent and emergent situations
• Flexibility to work PRN shifts based on census needs

PRN Contract Details

• Per-diem schedule (shifts vary by department needs)
• Day, night, and weekend availability preferred
• Premium PRN hourly rates
• No guaranteed hours
• Opportunity for future ongoing PRN contracts or extensions
