Description
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience on the cardiac floor REQUIRED
- 1st Time Travelers are not ACCEPTED (unless traveler has more than 24 months of cardiac experience.)
- Locals are ACCEPTED
- REQUIRED Certs: BLS, ACLS and NIHSS
Skills REQUIRED:
- Cardiac Telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, Sheath Removal, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Post MI, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath, Manage Cardiac drips- no titration, Titrate Cardiac drips, Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleuravac, External CPAP/BIPAP, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management
PREFERRED Skills:
- Arterial line management, Wound Care/Wound Vac, and Charge Experience
JOB DETAILS:
- Ratios are 1:4 for surgical step down, and 1:5-6 for lower acuity
- Shift: NIGHTS 36 HOURS ONLY
- 13-26 weeks accepted
- Float Requirement: Will follow unit rotation - not first to float
- Weekend Requirement: 4 per 4 weeks (flexible)
- PATIENT DIAGNOSES: Atrial Fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, Aortic stenosis/regurgitation, Mitral Regurgitation/Stenosis, Endocarditis, Cardiomyopathy, PVD PAD, Vasculitis, Carotid stenosis, Venous stasis, sheath management, sheath removal.
- SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, Mitral Clip, LAAO (Watchman procedure), VATS, Carotid endarterectomy, FEM-POP bypass, Amputations, Other vascular surgeries, Cardiac surgeries, Thoracic surgeries, General thoracic surgery, Post cath, Post DCCV, Post electrophysiology procedures, Pacemaker placements.
- SPECIAL EQUIPMENT: Arterial lines (not required), Doppler, Bladder scanner, EKG, Femoral sheaths, TR band, Fem-stop, Chest tubes, Epicardial Pacing Wires.
UNIT SYSTEMS: Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR
SCRUBS: Navy
