Description

Radiologic Technologist (Weekender Nights)

Rockford, IL
Job Type: Contract | 13 Weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hrs/week
Shift: Friday–Sunday, Nights (9p–7a) + On-Call + Holiday Rotation

Role

The Radiologic Technologist performs a range of diagnostic radiology procedures, including radiographic, portable, C-arm, and fluoroscopy exams. This weekender night shift role includes on-call responsibilities and holiday rotation.

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic radiographic, portable, C-arm, and fluoroscopic procedures
Review clinical history and orders; verify required labs; consult with radiologists as needed
Educate patients and ensure comfort with proper positioning
Select and operate imaging equipment and accessories
Follow ALARA principles and radiation safety protocols
Initiate BLS when necessary
Process images, verify quality, and upload to PACS
Document procedures, medications, and relevant details in EMR (EPIC)
Assist with special exams, contrast prep, and injections
Provide instruction to students and new technologists
Ensure patient safety and assist with transport as needed
Operate mobile radiology equipment in ER/OR/bedside settings
Coordinate schedules for patients and staff as needed

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
Minimum 2 years experience
ARRT (R) required
IEMA-DNS (Illinois accreditation) required
BLS/CPR within 90 days
Active Illinois State License
No bilingual requirement
Must be comfortable with EPIC
Beds: 150–500
