L&D RN – Night Shift (Contract) | Lamar, CO

Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (36 hrs/week)
Guaranteed Hours: 36/week
 

Position Overview

The Labor & Delivery RN provides comprehensive nursing care to women throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum, as well as newborn care. This role requires strong clinical judgment, the ability to respond in high-stress situations, and expertise in OB/L&D workflows.

Responsibilities

• Perform maternal and fetal assessments, monitor labor progression.
• Prepare patients and assist with C-sections, inductions, and deliveries.
• Provide postpartum care and newborn care, including patient education.
• Administer IV meds, maintain infection control standards, document care.
• Prepare delivery rooms and provide emotional support to patients/families.
• Coordinate transfers and support overall OB department operations.

Qualifications

Education & Licensure

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Active Colorado RN license (required).
• CPR certification required.
• NRP + ACLS required within 1 year of employment.

Experience

• Minimum 7 years of experience required.
• 4+ years in Obstetric nursing preferred.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of L&D, postpartum, and maternal-infant care.
• Familiarity with sterile technique and infection control.
• Ability to function under high stress and communicate effectively.
• Willingness to rotate shifts if census requires.
• On-call required.

Compensation & Rates

• OT: Time & ½ after 40 hours/week
• Holiday: Base rate + $8
• No call rate, no call-back minimum
• No 1099, W2 only
• No mileage, no bonuses or additional expenses listed
