Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse- Washington
American Consultants is looking for a travel Emergency Room RN
Position Overview
A Travel Registered Nurse (Travel RN) provides short-term clinical support to healthcare facilities experiencing staffing shortages. Travel RNs deliver high-quality patient care in diverse settings, quickly adapting to new environments, policies, and care teams. Assignments typically range from 8–26 weeks and may include hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, and specialty units.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care based on nursing standards and facility protocols.
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies according to physician orders.
- Monitor and document patient status, vital signs, and clinical changes.
- Clinical Coordination
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and manage patient care plans.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, other nurses, and healthcare staff to ensure continuity of care.
- Educate patients and their families on treatments, discharge plans, and health maintenance.
- Adaptability & Compliance
- Rapidly adjust to new clinical environments, workflows, EMR systems, and staffing structures.
- Comply with state and federal regulations, facility policies, and travel nurse contract obligations.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the facility’s charting system.
- Specialty-Specific Duties
- Perform skills and tasks based on assignment (e.g., ICU monitoring, ER triage, OR circulating/scrubbing, Med-Surg bedside care, Labor & Delivery support).
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (compact license preferred).
- Minimum 1–2 years of recent clinical experience in relevant specialty.
- BLS certification required; ACLS, PALS, TNCC, or specialty certifications may be required depending on assignment.
- Proficiency with common EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech).
- Ability to travel and work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays as neede
