Description

🩺 Patient Population & Acuity

This unit handles a high-acuity, complex patient mix:

Common Diagnoses: Post pacer insertion, new onset afib, RVR (Rapid Ventricular Rate), strokes, TBIs (Traumatic Brain Injuries), sepsis.
Types of Patients: Stepdown from ICU, surgical patients, urology patients (e.g., post-Cystoscopy), oncology patients (if cardiac issues), and some correctional patients.
Excluded: No primary cardiac/surgical patients (CP sent out).
High Acuity: Heavy patients, a lot of bedsores, about 1/3 from nursing homes, and patients with PEG tubes.
