• BLS required
• ACLS preferred.
• Minimum one year medical/surgical experience preferred; preceptorship, charge, and leadership abilities preferred for experienced RNs.
• An experienced RN will possess a thorough knowledge of nursing principles, the ability to provide quality patient care, and the ability to assess patients' needs, e.g., clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual.
• Must recognize safety issues to self and others and be able to assess and implement the use of lifts to move patients in a safe manner.
• Must be able to function well in stressful situations and have good, creative, problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate.
• May be required to assume duties as a charge nurse.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills required.
• Knowledge in the use of typical clinical equipment instrumentation utilized in providing a safe and/or aseptic environment in an OR/ASU setting.
• Lethal dysrhythmia interpretation skills.
• On call required (Response time of 30 minutes).
