Facility name- Regency Hospital of Greenville LLC
Shift: Day 5x8.0
• Short Description: Under the general supervision of the Director, the Pharmacist will be responsible for having a working knowledge of all areas of pharmaceutical services provided by Select.

- Follows all facility guidelines for personal appearance, attendance, and punctuality
- Maintains adequate drug supply at pharmacy at all times
- Orders appropriate quantities on a timely basis
- Follows established procedures for procurement of medications (regular and emergency)
- Completes annual inventory process and forwards results to the Business Office
- Complies with all Federal and State Pharmacy laws, rules, and regulations
- Oversees monthly removal of outdated medications and returns them to manufacturer
- Documents all recalled drugs
- Maintains available stock of antidotes and other emergency drugs
- Participates in development and updating of hospital formulary or drug list
- Provides formulary/drug list to professional staff
- Correctly prepares all drugs and chemicals, including sterile parenterals
- Ensures competency of staff preparing/administering parenterals
- Correctly fills and dispenses all medications, including stat orders
- Maintains strict control and accountability for drugs dispensed
- Correctly records and documents all dispensed drugs
- Maintains cleanliness and order of the Pharmacy, including refrigerator temperature checks
- Conducts monthly inspections of patient care units and Pharmacy areas
- Assures control and documentation of controlled substances
- Replaces drugs removed from emergency carts and floor stock
- Reviews pharmaceutical policies and procedures for consistency with current practices
- Maintains practitioner signature and DEA number listings
- Develops and participates in new employee training and education programs
- Provides medication education and discharge counseling to patients
- Maintains confidentiality of patient/medical staff information
- Maintains computer systems and databases; runs billing functions
- Participates in quality assurance programs related to drug utilization and effectiveness
- Participates in Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee meetings and implements decisions
- Monitors patient drug therapy for contraindications, interactions, allergies, appropriateness, and adverse reactions
- Provides clinical consultation and support for Pharmacy’s econotherapeutic efforts
- Functions as a role model and resource for staff
- Develops and empowers employees for decision-making and problem-solving
- Counsels and evaluates employees per hospital policy
- Performs other duties as assigned
• EPIC experience required
• Medication Reconciliation for discharge medication list
• Communication skills for: - Gathering prior-to-admission home medication list from patient, family, or pharmacy
- Discharge counseling with patients/families
• Clinical knowledge for: - Antimicrobial Stewardship (interpretation of culture results, knowledge of UTI, pneumonia, SSTI, etc.)
- Pharmacokinetic Dosing Management/Monitoring
- Anticoagulation Dosing Management/Monitoring
• Behavior Characteristics: - Successful completion of all educational requirements as mandated for state licensure
- Current State licensure required
- BLS if required by State
- EPIC Experience
- Minimum Two (2) Years of Recent Hospital Experience
