Travel RN OR
Location: San Antonio, TX
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Days 6:30am to 5pm | 4x10s
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care aligned with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation).
- Collaborate with surgical teams to prepare patients and assist in various procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Administer medications and treatments following proper protocols; monitor for side effects and treatment efficacy.
- Document all aspects of patient history, intraoperative findings, medications, and post-operative care thoroughly and accurately.
- Assess patient and family learning needs; provide education on procedures, post-op care, and discharge instructions.
- Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to other care team members to optimize workflow and care outcomes.
- Strive for continuous professional development by staying current with surgical nursing practices and protocols.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year in perioperative or surgical nursing preferred.
- Licenses & Certifications:
- Valid RN license in Texas or as part of the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- Strong understanding of surgical procedures, aseptic techniques, and perioperative protocols.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
