Physical Therapist (PT) – Acute Care (Days)

Location: Albany, GA
Start Date: January 5, 2026
Duration: 17 Weeks
Shift: Days (8- or 10-hour shifts)
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week

Position Overview

A dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist is needed to support the Physical Therapy – North unit within an acute care environment. The PT will provide therapeutic interventions to help patients regain mobility, strength, and independence. This role is ideal for a clinician with strong clinical judgment and a collaborative approach to care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations to determine functional status and therapy needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focusing on mobility, balance, strength, and endurance.
• Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfer training, and functional mobility activities.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes.
• Document all patient care activities accurately and efficiently using MEDITECH 6.1.
• Educate patients and families on treatment goals, home exercise programs, and safe mobility practices.
• Participate in discharge planning by assessing patient progress and providing recommendations.
• Maintain compliance with professional, ethical, and regulatory standards of practice.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of physical therapy experience, preferably in acute care.
• Licensure: Active Physical Therapist license (eligible to submit).
• Certifications: Current BLS certification required.
• Clinical Skills:
  • Strong assessment and critical-thinking abilities
  • Proficiency in treating patients with complex medical conditions
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload efficiently
  • Strong understanding of therapeutic exercise and functional mobility techniques
