Shift: 12H Nights Nights, Weekends as needed (possibly consecutive wkds), First to float Description:

What units are included in the float poolObservation unit, Med-Surg, General Surgery, Ortho Surgery, Short Stay Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Oncology. Telemetry & Progressive Care Nurse:Patient Ratios4-5 patients to one MS; 3 patients to 1 RN on progressive careRequired Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS)BLS, ACLSCommon diagnoses/Types of patientsmed-surg; post op surgical patients, PCU- strokes, lines, drains, chest tubes, CHF, post vascular procedures, arrhythmias, DKA.Experience or 'Must have' skillsMed-surg experience, PCU/Stepdown level of experience. Are RNs required to titrate dripsSometimes not usually on med-surg unitsCommon titratable &/or set rate dripsHeparin, Titratable- Nicardipine, NTG, insulin, Cardizem.
