Job Opportunity: LDRP Nurse - Postpartum Unit

Location: Springfield, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long Term Contract (13 weeks)

Unit Overview

Unit Name: Postpartum
Unit Description: Provides mother-baby couplet care including maternal assessments, newborn evaluations, breastfeeding support, and education for postpartum discharge planning.
Unit Size/Beds:
- Pod A: 11 rooms
- Wesson 2: 20 rooms with surge capacity for up to 18 additional beds (double occupancy capable)
Expected Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 3-4 mother-baby couplets

Shift Details

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Weekend and Holiday Requirements: Yes
On Call: No
Float Requirements: Yes, this position is the first to float to Labor, Delivery, and Recovery (LDR) within the OB service

Patient Population

Postpartum patients with vaginal and cesarean deliveries

Requirements

Experience: Minimum 1 year
Certifications:
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)

Additional Information

The postpartum team supports the LDR unit and floats within the OB service. This role is expected to be the first to float to LDR when needed.
