Respiratory Therapist – RRT Required
Note: CRTs will not be considered for this need.
Facility: Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital (APD)
Local Travelers: Not eligible (residing within 50 miles of facility)

The Respiratory Care Department at APD provides high-quality respiratory care to patients and visitors while advancing the science of respiratory care through collaboration, education, research, and continuous clinical improvement.
Role Summary
An RRT provides specialized patient care across critical care units and consults to general surgical and medical floor units.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate with physicians, nurses, allied staff, patients, and families to schedule and provide treatments
Document patient interactions and bill for services rendered
Administer medications per written orders; report any adverse reactions using proper patient identification and documentation
Respond to codes, rapid responses, emergencies, and patient transports as required
Perform blood gas tasks: drawing, analyzing, equipment maintenance, QA/QC
Manage mechanical ventilation according to guidelines, protocols, and physician orders
Ensure all equipment operates properly and is maintained per manufacturer specifications
Draw and analyze arterial, venous, capillary, and cord blood gases
Assignment Details
Requested Time Off (RTO): Must be noted and verified at submission. No more than 5 days allowed; RTO requests after upload will not be approved
Orientation: 8 hours, non-billable
Call Rate: $4/hr
OT/Holiday/Call-Back Multiplier: 1.25×
