Experience Requirements

• Minimum Experience: 1 year
• First-time travelers accepted

Patient Population

• Infants to Geriatrics
  • Primarily Adult RRT
  • Includes care of pediatric intubated patients

Licensure & Certification Requirements

• Active Georgia (GA) RRT License required
• BLS: Required
• ACLS: Required
• PALS: Required

Facility & Unit Overview

• Facility Level: Level II Trauma Center
• Stroke Certification: Interventional Stroke Certified
• NICU: Level III NICU and regional neonatal transport resource

Clinical Skills & Work Setting Requirements

• Trauma experience required
• Management of non-invasive ventilation
• Management of conventional mechanical ventilation
• Aerosol therapy administration
• Oxygen management
• Bedside pulmonary function testing
• Pulmonary function testing (spirometry) (preferred)
• Arterial line placement
• Arterial blood gas (ABG) collection
• Capillary blood gas collection
• Drawing blood from lines
• Patient and family education

Scheduling & Work Expectations

• Weekends: Every other weekend unless specified elsewhere
• Floating: Required
  • Within the facility and sister campus as needed (Piedmont Columbus Northside)
• On-Call: None
• Scrub Color: Slate Gray
• Requested Time Off (RTO): Maximum of 7 days

Holiday Requirements

• If one major holiday falls during the assignment, the traveler is expected to work it
• If two major holidays fall during the assignment, the traveler is expected to work both
• If three major holidays fall during the assignment, the traveler is expected to work two

Recognized Major Holidays:

• New Year’s Eve and Day: Wednesday, December 31 & Thursday, January 1
• Memorial Day: Monday, May 26
• Independence Day: Friday, July 4
• Labor Day: Monday, September 1
• Thanksgiving / Black Friday: Thursday, November 27 & Friday, November 28
• Christmas Eve and Day: Wednesday, December 24 & Thursday, December 25

Compliance & Orientation

• Full compliance required to start on time
  • Failure to complete compliance in time will result in a 2-week start delay due to bi-weekly orientation schedules
• Non-Billable Orientation (NBO) Hours:
  • Determined by contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment; 19 hours for 19-week assignment)
