• Patient Types/Common Diagnoses Seen:
• Physical Therapy/PTA:
• Medically compromised patients: CHF, COPD, DM, Cardiac
• Ortho, neuro, dementia, general weakness
• Ages vary from early adult to geriatrics
• Required Certifications:
• Physical Therapy:
• SD licensure
• BLS
• Required Education:
• Physical Therapist - Bachelors in Physical Therapy
• Skills required:
• Physical Therapy:
• General physical therapy skills including but not limited to evaluation, determining effective intervention, medical assessment skills, development of care plans
• Departmental Support:
• Home Health Department team includes RN, LPN, OT, PTA, SLP, Aides, MSW, case managers
• Charting System:
• EPIC
• Equipment used:
• Physical Therapy/PTA: No specific equipment skills required
• Floating: If yes, where?
• Physical Therapy/PTA: Position is for the Southern Black Hills to include Hot Springs, Custer, Edgemont, Hill City, Hermosa and surrounding area.
• Orientation:
• Generally, orientation takes approximately 1 week to complete including EPIC orientation, shadowing, documentation process, etc.
• Scheduling:
• All positions are Monday - Friday Operations
• Weekend rotation: None
• No call
• Holiday Expectations: Office is closed on 6 major Holidays
