Job Summary Performs independent nursing functions and delegated medical duties in alignment with accepted practice standards as defined by the State Board of Nursing. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for assigned patients. Evaluates patient health status through ongoing data collection and assessment. Provides health education, counseling, and supportive or restorative therapy and treatment—either directly to patients or indirectly through consultation, delegation, supervision, or teaching. Executes delegated medical functions within scope. Refers patients for additional evaluation or treatment when appropriate. Reviews, monitors, and updates therapy and treatment plans. Documents all care in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards. Utilizes hospital resources appropriately and efficiently. Upholds and promotes the mission, vision, and values of SCL Health and adheres to established service behavior standards. Performs additional duties as assigned. May be required to float to other departments based on organizational needs (within scope and competency). May be assigned on-call responsibilities during regularly scheduled shifts.
