Job Overview

The OB RN independently delivers high-quality, holistic nursing care for patients across the full obstetrics spectrum including:

• Antepartum
• Intrapartum / Labor
• Delivery
• Postpartum
• Nursery
• Post-operative GYN patients

The nurse uses critical thinking, clinical judgment, and patient-education skills to ensure safe and compassionate care, following all facility nursing standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and create individualized care plans.
• Provide direct patient care in labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care.
• Monitor fetal status, maternal response, and perform rapid interventions as needed.
• Support and educate patients and families throughout the childbirth process.
• Maintain accurate charting and documentation.
• Ensure adherence to hospital policies including confidentiality and safety standards.
• Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and interdepartmental teams.
• Participate in unit orientation, meetings, and quality-improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Active RN license (ME or compact).
• 2+ years of recent acute OB nursing experience.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Strong communication (written & verbal) and computer skills.
• Must be vaccinated for COVID-19.
• Must complete facility general nursing & unit orientation.
