Position: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health Location: Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital (NNRH) – Elko, NV Type: Travel Assignment

Overview

Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital in Elko, NV is seeking an experienced Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment. The RN will provide compassionate and effective care to patients with psychiatric and behavioral health needs, ensuring safety, therapeutic engagement, and adherence to treatment plans.

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to patients in the Behavioral Health unit
Conduct patient assessments, monitor progress, and document care accurately
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
Support patients and families through education and therapeutic communication
Respond to psychiatric emergencies and de-escalate crisis situations using appropriate interventions
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nevada (or compact license eligible)
Minimum of 1 year inpatient Behavioral Health experience; 2 years preferred
Strong clinical assessment and crisis intervention skills
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities
Required Certifications: RN license, BLS; Handle with Care preferred
Experience with electronic medical records systems; Meditech experience preferred
Required Education: Associates of Nursing

Assignment Details

Contract length: 13 weeks, with potential for extension
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM DAYS
Weekend Hours: Every-other weekend rotation
