Description
Pride Health is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist to support our client’s medical facility based in Carnegie, PA 15106.
This is a contractual assignment with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role — an excellent opportunity to join a respected, high-quality healthcare organization.
Job Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist
Location: Carnegie, PA 15106
Core Hours: 12-8pm 2nd shift (40hrs/week)
Pay Range: $30/hr per hour (Salary depends on experience, credentials, and certifications)
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow laboratory protocols for specimen collection, handling, processing, and testing.
- Perform and document quality control activities, maintenance, and calibrations.
- Analyze specimens using approved procedures and review/verify results.
- Ensure compliance with CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and all safety regulations.
- Notify senior staff of issues affecting test accuracy or performance.
- Troubleshoot and document corrective actions when systems deviate.
- Report critical or STAT results appropriately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate, organized documentation of all testing performed.
- Ensure reagents and kits are labeled and tracked correctly.
- Respond professionally to client, clinician, or internal lab inquiries.
Required Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong understanding of routine laboratory testing and workflows
- Ability to work efficiently across multiple computers and LIS systems
- Knowledge of QC, QA, and high-complexity testing
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain confidentiality
Qualifications:
- BS in Medical Technology OR BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology
- OR previously qualified under 42 CFR 493.1433
- At least 1 year of clinical laboratory experience preferred
- Required for non–Med Tech degrees: 1 year of high-complexity lab experience
