Department: Float Pool | RN - Unit: Clinical Support Unit - RN Float Pool - What units are included in the float pool: ER, ICU, MedSurg, Tele, L&D/PP, NICU at 3 facilities- Boise, Meridian, and Nampa. RNs will only float in their speciality, will never float to a lower acuity. Can also float to any facility to be a 1:1 sitter in any area. ER: Boise, Meridian, and Nampa. Meridian ER is busiest in the state but no trauma and Boise gets Peds Trauma. ICU: 2 ICUs in Boise, 1 at Meridian, and 1 in Nampa (generally lower acuity ICU patients). MedSurg: All MedSurg units at Boise, Meridian, and Nampa (6 units across all facilities). Tele: All tele units at Boise, Meridian, and Nampa (4 units across all facilities). L&D/PP: Boise- L&D and Mother Baby, Meridian- L&D and Post Partum, Nampa- LDRP. NICU: Boise, Meridian, and Nampa. Will generally only give travelers feeder growers. - Nurse:Patient Ratios: ER: 1:4, ICU: 1:1-2, MedSurg: 1:5, Tele: 1:4, Peds: 1:3, NICU 1:4. - Required Certifications: BLS- required for all. ACLS required for ER, ICU and Tele. - Common diagnoses/Types of patients: will get from unit managers - Experience or 'Must have' skills: Must have 2 years experience in speciality and previous travel experience. Highly prefer antepartum and mother baby experience for L&D travelers. - Are RNs required to titrate drips: ICU, ER, Tele, MedSurg, ICU, and PICU will be required to titrate. - Common titratable &/or set rate drips: MedSurg- insulin. Will get from unit managers. - Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift & on each unit: Charge nurse on all units. Float pool has 7 assistant manager, 1 is always on call 24/7. They always round and touch base with travelers days, nights, and weekends. Float pool leadership team including educator and admin have a shared email. 7 assistant maangers on call- 1 is always on call 24/7. - Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on the units: Yes ratios: anywhere from 1:8-10 depeding on floor and day. - RT Equipment: Will get specifics from unit managers - Are there tele/monitor techs on the units: ICU, ER, Tele, and PICU must read and interpret. Will check if L&D is required. - Shifts & Scheduling: 0700-1900 or 1900-0700. No self-scheduling. We try to block schedule but cannot guarantee it. - Weekend Requirements: as needed - Holiday Requirements : Will fill in if there is a need - Is there a call or standby requirement: No - How are units assigned: Travelers will have an app, 1 hour before shift starts will see what hospital and unit you are going to. All hospitals are about 20 minutes apart, all are right off the interstate, safe parking available at all locations. Travelers will be 1st to float can midshift float- can float at any time during shift to different units and facilities, whenever there is a need. - Scrub Color/Dress Code: No specific color as long as clean and professional - How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation: Meet and greet day 1 of orientation. 3 shifts of inpatient orientation. **This facility has a radius rule of 50 miles. To ensure adherence to this rule, we will require the candidates' perm address in the submittal to confirm they are outside of that specified radius before proceeding with the profile review.
