Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Patient Care Management: Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate comprehensive nursing care for a group of patients, often serving as a primary and/or accountable nurse.
• Safety and Quality: Manage patient care with consideration for safety, effectiveness, competency, cost, and impact.
• Patient/Family Education: Educate patients and their families on health promotion and disease management, leveraging available resources.
• Medication Administration: Utilize a working knowledge of pharmacology to safely and accurately administer medications according to United Health Services policy.
• Resource Utilization: Share responsibility for effective resource management, including productivity, staffing, time management, supplies, and services.
• Compliance: Adhere strictly to all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and United Health Services policies.
• Professional Engagement: Actively participate in and support the Nursing Shared Governance Model, including Unit Council, improvement initiatives, and peer review practices.
• Professional Development: Proactively engage in continuing nursing education, professional development, and complete all mandatory educational requirements.
• Evidence-Based Practice: Integrate nursing research and current evidence into daily clinical practice.
• Mentorship: Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and nursing students.
• Organizational Values: Follow all United Health Services Values and perform other duties as assigned.

📋 Qualifications

Required Education & Licensure

• Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Licensure: Current NYS RN License.
• Certification: Current BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
  • Note: Unit-specific requirements must be validated via the Compliance Matrix.

Preferred Education & Licensure

• Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN).
• Certification: Professional certification in a related nursing specialty; relevant skills certification (e.g., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by the assigned unit.

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience: Six (6) months to three (3) years of Nursing (RN) experience.
• Direct Experience: Five plus (5+) years of direct experience.
