Description

Inpatient Pharmacist
Hours are week nights, 9pm-7am, and weekend nights, 7pm-7am.

Must have a PharmD degree
• Licensed to practice pharmacy in the state of North Carolina

An overview/brief summary of the pharmacy: • The Watauga Medical Center pharmacy operates 24 hours, 7 days a week. Pharmacists’ duties include: • Provide great customer service to other healthcare teammates over the phone or in person. • Verify medication orders, review orders checking for patient allergies, drug interactions, drug disease state interactions, and check orders for appropriate therapy. • Verify home meds against a medication reconciliation report, utilize pharmacist to dose consults, consult with the physicians, residents, and other members of the healthcare team when appropriate. • Check IV admixtures, ensuring accuracy of final product, and also ensuring patient safety by ensuring IV admixtures were prepared in accordance with USP 797/800 guidelines.
