Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (Travel Assignment)

Location: Manchester, NH 03102 

Unit: C200 Progressive Care, Floor C 

Specialty: RN – PCU 

Start Date: January 5, 2026 

Assignment Duration: 13 weeks 

Shift: Day, 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. 

Weekends/On-Call: Every third weekend; no on-call

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 10
• Staffing Model:
  • Day Shift – 1 charge RN, 3 RNs, 1 LNA, sitter PRN
  • Night Shift – 1 charge RN, 2 RNs, 1 LNA, sitter PRN
• Patient Ratios: 3–4:1
• Equipment: IV pumps, telemetry monitors, hoyer/stand lifts, bladder scanner, Bair Hugger, rapid transfuser, chest tubes, vein finder, high-flow nasal cannula, BiPAP/CPAP, epicardial and transvenous pacers
• EMR: Sunrise
• Patient Population: Primarily cardio-thoracic and vascular surgical patients, with occasional medical progressive care patients

Typical Hiring Profile

Must Have Skills (required):

• Telemetry
• Comfort with chest tubes

Preferred Skills (nice to have):

• Experience with cardiac drips (dobutamine, dopamine, Levo)
• External pacemaker experience

Typical Procedures Performed:

• Pericardialcentesis with drains left in place post-procedure
• Thoracentesis
• Chest tube insertion

Best Personality Fit:

• Organized but adaptable

Requirements

• Certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Floating Areas: Progressive Care and Telemetry
• Dress Code: Scrub color/attire – N/A
