CVICU RN - Nights - Akron, OH

BLS, ACLS required

2 years RN experience required

Must have EPIC EMR experience

Unit information: STEMI, NSTEMI, Heart Failure, Pulmonary Emboli (with right strain) and electro physiology patients. Also overflow for the MICU but most of those patients are respiratory failure patients in case they would require ECMO therapy during their stay. We do a mix of open hearts. Some CABG, some valve, some both. CABG is our biggest open heart patient population. We average 1 open heart a day Monday-Friday. We also take some lung surgeries such as lobectomy, wedge resection, and vats on a case-by-case basis. We do something different here than other hospitals which maintain open hearts until discharge and downgrade as their condition improves. Must be independent in obtaining labs and initiating IVs.
