Unit Notes
• Types of cases you see? CABG, VALVES, TAVR, Carotid, AV fistula, Thoracotomy. When no heart cases team does float to main OR
• What your surgeons are looking for in a RN or a CST? Reliable, knowledgeable, respectful, efficient
• Staffing model 2 RNS per CABG/Valve, 1-2 CSTs per CABG/Valve
• Charting System Cerner
• Bed size 12 operating rooms and 2 of those dedicated to open heart
• Anything else regarding the specifics or ins and outs of the unit that you can share? Team works very closely together so must be able to collaborate well and work together as a team
• Any selling points? Benefits? Offerings? Ect. Leadership does encourage a good work life balance. We want staff to have time off to enjoy life outside of work.
• Scheduling Only one RN/Tech off per week for vacation, around 15 calls per 4-week schedule What makes you work at Union? What do you love about it? Leadership is very involved in the unit. We really encourage staff to look for ways and areas to improve processes then implement those changes
