Description
Radiologic Technologist - PERMANENT POSITION - PEORIA, IL
Under the direction of the radiologist or provider, the Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic radiographic exams and procedures with a high level of independence. This role supports the organization’s mission by delivering safe, accurate, and compassionate imaging care while upholding ALARA standards and all regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviews daily schedules and imaging orders, collaborating with radiologists and referring providers to ensure the appropriate exam is performed for each patient.
- Communicates clearly and professionally with patients, verifying identity, confirming history, and ensuring they understand the procedure.
- Completes point-of-care pregnancy screenings per department protocol.
- Operates radiography and fluoroscopy equipment across various care areas, selecting proper protocols and adjusting technical factors to produce optimal diagnostic images.
- Prepares imaging studies for interpretation, ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with departmental standards.
- Performs quality control checks, promptly reports equipment malfunctions, and removes equipment from service when necessary.
- Maintains a clean, safe work environment while following all infection control and hand-hygiene practices.
- Safely transports patients using appropriate equipment and techniques, providing thorough and effective handoff communication.
- Supports student technologists completing clinical rotations by offering guidance and supervision consistent with their level of training.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Radiography program (certificate or degree).
- IEMA Radiography License.
- ARRT(R) certification.
- Current CPR certification.

- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of HIPAA, patient privacy standards, and proper handling of protected health information.
