Description
Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (ICU RN)
The ICU RN provides complex, continuous nursing care to critically ill adult patients in a high acuity hospital setting. This role supports advanced monitoring, life sustaining therapies, and close collaboration with the interdisciplinary critical care team.
Responsibilities
• Perform comprehensive assessments, monitor hemodynamics, ventilators, and invasive lines, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Titrate vasoactive and sedation infusions per protocol, administer medications and blood products, and coordinate labs, imaging, and procedures
• Participate in rapid response and code events, provide education and support to patients and families, and document all care accurately in the EMR
Requirements
• Active RN license in the state of practice or compact
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU or critical care experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Strong critical thinking, advanced cardiac monitoring, and prioritization skills, with comfort managing ventilated and high acuity patients
