Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (NICU RN)

The NICU RN provides specialized, continuous nursing care to premature and critically ill newborns in a high acuity neonatal intensive care setting. This role supports advanced monitoring, life sustaining therapies, and close collaboration with neonatologists and the interdisciplinary team while supporting families through complex hospital stays.

Responsibilities
• Perform comprehensive neonatal assessments, monitor vital signs, respiratory status, and response to treatment for premature and critically ill infants
• Manage incubators, ventilators, CPAP, IV therapy, parenteral nutrition, and medications in accordance with neonatal best practices and provider orders
• Assist with neonatal procedures, central line care, and laboratory collection while maintaining strict infection prevention standards
• Recognize and respond promptly to changes in condition, participating in neonatal resuscitation and emergency interventions as needed
• Educate and support parents and families on infant condition, treatment plans, developmental care, and discharge preparation
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record

Requirements
• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice or compact
• Minimum 2 years of recent NICU nursing experience
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• Strong neonatal assessment skills and comfort with ventilated and high acuity infants
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on family centered care in a high stress environment
