ICU Registered Nurse – Days | United Health Services (New York)

Schedule: 36 hrs/week, Days, Every other weekend
Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
Required Experience: ICU experience; NY RN license

Job Summary

The ICU RN provides high-quality, patient-centered care and is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for critically ill patients. The RN upholds all professional nursing standards, supports a safe and healing environment, and advocates for patients and families.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver and coordinate ICU nursing care for a group of patients
• Safely administer medications and follow all UHS policies
• Educate patients and families on health conditions and care plans
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and participate in shared governance
• Support new staff/students and engage in ongoing professional development
• Perform Charge RN responsibilities as assigned
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and practice standards

Required Skills & Experience

• 6 months–3 years RN experience, ICU preferred
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to manage complex, high-acuity patients
• Reliability, safety awareness, and sound clinical judgment

Education

• Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure & Certifications

• Required:
  • Active New York RN license
  • BLS (AHA/ARC/HSI)
  • ACLS & PALS
• Preferred: CCRN, TNCC, and other specialty certifications
