Job Overview
We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join a post-acute and long-term care environment for a 13-week contract assignment. This role involves partnering with residents and interdisciplinary care teams to ensure a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment while delivering both direct and indirect nursing care across multiple specialized units.
Please Note:
- Candidates with licensure hits will not be considered.
- Previous employees are not eligible.
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius.
- Up to 16 hours of orientation are unpaid.
- Facility may cancel up to 3 shifts per contract.
Unit Descriptions
3 East – Memory Care (31 beds)
Provides specialized care for residents with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Nurses use both verbal and non-verbal communication techniques to understand behaviors and support residents in a home-like, long-term environment.
Transitional Rehabilitation Unit – Short-Term Rehab (42 beds)
Supports patients recovering from fractures, joint replacements, back surgeries, strokes, and similar conditions. Services include skilled nursing, IV therapy, wound care, geriatric assessment, and rehabilitative support.
3 West – Long-Term Care (42 beds)
Offers extended nursing care for residents requiring long-term placement with a focus on comfort, dignity, and a home-like atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to post-acute, rehab, and long-term care residents.
- Partner with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care plans.
- Perform assessments, administer medications, and manage patient needs.
- Utilize strong communication skills to ensure continuity of care.
- Float to other units as needed to support facility coverage.
- Maintain accurate documentation within EPIC EMR.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (or equivalent combination of education/experience).
- Licensure: Active Maine or Compact RN license (required).
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience preferred.
- Certifications: BLS/BCLS required.
- Skills:
- Strong teamwork and communication abilities
- Medical terminology preferred
- Flexibility to support 24/7 care needs
- Ability to float between units
