Essential Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients and provide comprehensive nursing care.
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments; record all changes in physician orders.
• Assist physicians in examining patients and performing minor diagnostic procedures or treatments.
• Obtain and monitor patients’ physiological data; observe clinical manifestations and intervene when appropriate.
• Administer medications as prescribed; initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions and blood products.
• Deliver patient care safely and competently in accordance with hospital policies and nursing standards.
• Communicate and collaborate with patients and families regarding care plans throughout hospitalization and at discharge.
• Educate patients and families on hospital procedures and expectations.
• Make appropriate referrals to healthcare personnel based on patient needs.
• Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate.

Certifications & Licensure

Required:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing OR a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
