Job Title: Registered Nurse - Med/Surg (Night Shift) 

Location: Chicago, IL (or surrounding area) 

Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse for a contract position at a Level 1 Trauma Center. This role requires a flexible and experienced clinician ready to work in a fast-paced environment. 

Please note: This facility has specific floating requirements and is looking for candidates who can float to other facilities as needed.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Licensure: Active IL RN License required in hand at submission.
• Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in Med/Surg.
  • Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required.
  • Experience with tracheostomy care and non-invasive airway management required.
• Certifications: BLS and NIHSS required; ACLS preferred.
• Vaccination: COVID-19 Vaccine required (No exemptions). Flu Vaccine required (Medical/Religious exemptions only).

Shift & Schedule Details

• Schedule: 3x12 Hour Shifts (36 hours/week).
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month).
• Block Scheduling: Not available.
• EMR: Cerner.
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue (clinician provided).

Important Floating Policy

• Mandatory Floating: Clinicians are required to float at the facility's discretion to meet needs.
• Floating Range: Floating may occur to other facilities within a 50-mile radius (notification provided 2 hours prior to shift).
• Scope: You may be floated to various units. If floated outside your primary competency, a team-based nursing model will be used.

Time Off Policy (RTO)

• Limits: Max 5 days off per contract, with no more than 2 consecutive days.
• Restrictions: No RTO on weekends, holidays, or the day immediately before/after a holiday.
