Description
Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse - ICU (Night Shift)
Location: Chicago, IL
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable ICU Registered Nurse for a contract at a Level 1 Trauma Center in the Chicago area. This is a dynamic role where you will support various critical care units, including Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, and Neuro ICU. The ideal candidate has strong experience with high-acuity patients, ventilators, and vasoactive drips.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Licensure: Active IL RN License required in hand at submission.
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in ICU.
- Must be comfortable managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required.
- Skills:
- Ventilator management, CPAP/BiPAP.
- Titration of vasoactive and cardiac drips.
- Arterial lines, central lines, and ABG interpretation.
- Vaccination: COVID-19 Vaccine required (No exemptions). Flu Vaccine required (Medical/Religious exemptions only).
- Location: Locals preferred (Must live within 75 miles).
Shift & Schedule Details
- Schedule: 3x12 Hour Shifts (36 hours/week).
- Orientation: Note: The first week (orientation and precepting) will be on the Day shift.
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend.
- EMR: Cerner.
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue (clinician provided).
Critical Floating Policy
- Internal Floating: ICU RNs will float between numerous ICU units (Burn, CCU, MICU, SICU, Neuro) and may float to Med/Surg if needed for staffing.
- External Floating: Clinicians are required to float to other facilities within a 50-mile radius based on facility needs (notification provided 2 hours prior to shift).
- Flexibility: There are no "home units." You must be willing to work in a team-based model if floated outside your primary competency.
Time Off Policy (RTO)
- Limits: Max 5 days off per contract, with no more than 2 consecutive days.
- Restrictions: No RTO on weekends, holidays, or the day immediately before/after a holiday.
